Workshop: Financing Municipal Water Utilities: The Creditworthiness Challenge Plock, Poland August 22 – 24, 2005Financing Municipal Water Utilities: The Creditworthiness Challenge
Plock, Poland August 22 – 24, 2005.
This workshop, targeted at elected representatives and water utility managers from 15 cities in Central and Eastern Europe (by invitation) will provide a forum to discuss and exchange experience on the access to financing by municipal water utilities. Through a combination of knowledge sharing between cities, and presentation by a series of external speakers, it will allow the participants to become better acquainted with the topic of "creditworthiness" - that is, the attractiveness of a given city/municipal water utility from the point of a private lender - thereby improving their chance of raising financing for investment at local government level.
This event is jointly organized by UNITAR-CIFAL Płock and the World Bank Group (World Bank Institute & WB-IFC Municipal Fund).
