E-Governance Digital Local Agenda Awareness Raising WorkshopCIFAL Płock workshop that will be held on 12 – 14 March 2007 is the third training focusing on ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). During the workshop the biggest emphasis will be put on upgrading and enforcement of the role of ICT in the services provided by local authorities for the citizens. Meeting of the different city representatives from Central and Eastern Europe will enable them to exchange experiences and compare the achievements of the previous participants gained since the last workshop held in July 2006.
During the workshop the participants will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Bilbao Declaration, which was created in 2005 together with the Action Plan during the II World Summit of Cities and Local Authorities on the Information Society in Bilbao, Spain (Bilbao Summit). The event was organized thanks to the commitment of UNITAR and CIFAL Bilbao and its main objective was to implement a Digital Local Agenda - a strategic plan at city and regional levels for development of the Information Society.
In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to review the Bilbao Declaration and its implementation, know what a Digital Local Agenda is, exchange experiences with other participants in the area of e-Governance, meet potential partners and create individual plan of action for their city/region.
The training is co-organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the City Hall of Płock, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and PKN ORLEN S.A.
